With the world getting more and more competitive with each passing day, focused training such as AGILE help you hone your skills, improve upon them and equip you to take competition head on. The AGILE certification goes beyond mere accreditation and exposes you to Agile methodologies. Agile product development and project management methodologies have gained significant industrywide acceptance, and many corporate giants such as Google, Salesforce, and Spotify are benefiting from the power of Agile methods. More and more companies are embracing and scaling Agile as part of their focus on delivering smarter, comprehensive and faster outputs.
Different people have different aspirations and ambitions with regard to their career. Therefore, it is important that you research various options under AGILE training and understand which certification is most suited to your needs from a reputed centre like Prince2Training.com.au. In some instances, you may also have to tune in with the geographical region where you are expecting to pursue your career so that your certification course covers content that is more focused on that region. Another factor you may need to consider is the difference between a PRINCE 2 certification and the PMP certification. That would also bring into focus the industry segment that you are keen on pursuing to build a career. Even if you are only skimming through this article, you are aware of the intense competition, particularly when you are aiming to scale the higher levels of project management. When you choose the right AGILE certification, taking on this competition becomes relatively easier.
When you start examining different certification, it could be challenging to choose one certification, pushing the others. Therefore, your primary task would be to gain a deep understanding of each certification and how they tune in with your employability.
Agile is a concept that is still evolving, and therefore professionals are required to keep updating their knowledge through appropriate ACP-PMI training. This way your soft skills will remain polished and your communication within your team and with clients will be more efficient. It will also help you explore the project from different angles, manage the risk as well as time planning for the project. The training will equip professionals in the early days of their career to carve out a bright future by acquiring the needed skills for augmenting their job, while professionals who are already well entrenched in their career can further sharpen their skills with the help of this training.
You will also need to consider the multiple approaches to AGILE like Kanban, Lean, Scrum, extreme programming and TDD or test-driven development. These multiple approaches help in enhancing your versatility irrespective of the type of project you are entrusted with. In other words, an AGILE certification will change the way you think and implement project giving you a quantum leap in your chosen career path.
How do you prepare for the certification?
The first step towards preparing to acquire your AGILE certification is identifying an appropriate institution that is offering the training that is conveniently accessible to you. Many institutions also provide online training which may be better suited for working professionals. But, in choosing online training, you will need to take into account the spare time you can devote for this as also your physical and mental disposition to take on the additional load and yet do justice to both. If you foresee impediments in your path in the immediate future, it may be sensible to delay things for a while then starting the training course and being compelled to leave midway through. Another way to lessen the burden is looking for institutes that offer simulation examination, reviews and classroom training so that you can prepare in-depth before taking the exams.
What are the different categories you can explore for Agile Certification?
The following are the categories of AGILE certification that you can explore:-
Under Scrum, three different certifications are offered, i.e., Scrum.org, Scrum Alliance and Scrum cradle to address three distinct roles in the Scrum – Product Owner, Scrum Master and Developer
CSM/CSPO/CSD is essentially more natural when it comes to cracking compared to PSM/PSPO/PSD I, but CSM also equips you with a basket of knowledge that is pretty interesting. Training for CSM/CSPO/CSD is mandated under Scrum alliance, and it provides a decent exposure to Scrum basics. While Scrum.org has advanced and basic courses for PSM/PSPO/PSD, it is not mandatory, and professionals do not go for it unless it is mandated.
Both the above certifications cover Agile basics at the higher level and have more focus on scrum. Of the two certifications, CSM has more elevated popularity. The objective of these certifications is met when professionals get the intended benefits out of them. CSM is relatively more approachable since PSM is relatively harder.
For those who have completed the basic certification, pursuing CSP provided by scrum alliance is a natural choice. However, the knowledge that PMI-ACP brings along is not comparable.
To apply for CSP certification, no training is mandated, and you only need some units of Scrum education. There are no tests for CSP through the application itself tests your knowledge.
PMI-ACP is a relatively harder option from start to finish since the prescribed prerequisites are somewhat challenging. Prior experience with project management and AGILE are mandatory. It, however, covers multiple facets of AGILE giving you a more in-depth knowledge of the overall AGILE spectrum.
You also have the option of advanced certifications offered by Scrum.org classified as level II and III for PSPO/PSM and those are the only scrum based certification making it even harder compared to a level I.
This is distinct from typical Agile. You can reckon this as special skills needed by managers and executives entrusted with the responsibility of leading change initiatives in large organizations.
